摘要
The present article has the objective to understand and measure the Brazilian scientific research in the area of textiles in Scielo database. In this effort, a bibliometric research to measure results was conducted taking into account the indexed articles from the Scielo database; a bibliographic research was also carried out to interpret the results from the former. It was verified that the areas with the higher number of publications are chemistry, environment and management. Considering that Brazil offers one of the world's most complete environmental legislation, being also the fifth larger textile manufacturer, the interest for publications in these areas is justified. However, there is a gap in areas of culture and heritage.
