A Low-profile Dual-polarized Antenna with Bandwidth-enhanced EBG Structure

摘要
A low-profile dual-polarized base station antenna is proposed in this paper. This antenna consists of a crossed dipole printed on a Rogers RO4350 substrate above a mushroom electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) reflector which is printed on a FR4 substrate. We utilize the leaky wave area of the EBG structure for bandwidth enhancement, and employ metallic walls on the four edges of the EBG structure's substrate for gain enhancement. The whole antenna's thickness is 6.26mm and its matching frequency range is from 3.04 GHz to 4.74 GHz. The maximum axial gain is 10.96 dBi and the axial gain is larger than 5.0 dBi over 77.3% of the matching frequency range.
