摘要
River basin committees play an important role, because they promote the coordinated management of water, soil, and other natural resources under a social, economic, and environmental approach. The Rio dos Sinos basin is affected by a predatory process of its natural resources, which has caused, among other problems, the contamination of water. The objective of the study was to reveal the contributions and insufficiencies of the COMITESINOS in the integrated management of the river dos Sinos, for this a qualitative research was carried out, with interviews and systematic visits to the management body. The work done evidenced weaknesses in the management despite the environmental concern of different social groups. The research contributes to socio-environmental studies an analysis of watershed management bodies, through the case of COMITESINOS, which reveals the challenges of these entities that do not achieve the sustainable management of water resources.
