摘要
This study examines how much variance of economic growth can be explained by various categories of savings in Malaysia. Bounds testing approach to cointegration and generalised forecast error variance decomposition technique are used to achieve the objectives of this study. We find that the relationship between economic growth and savings in Malaysia are stable and coalescing in the long run. Moreover, the economic growth in Malaysia is dominated by the domestic savings and the impact of foreign savings is relatively insignificant.
