Simulation of dust lifting process induced by gas explosion disaster in underground coal mine

摘要
In order to find out the characteristics of the dust lifting process behind a shock wave and its influence parameters, the E-E method was used to study the influence of gas velocity, dust density and particle size on the dust lifting process. The results show that the dust was lifted well under a low gas velocity (100 - 300 m/s) before the shock wave. The dust density between 1000 kg/m(3) and 3000 kg/m(3) has little influence on the dust lifting ability. However, the particle size has a significant influence on the dust lifting process. The dust was not well lifted because of a heavier single dust particle when the particle diameter was bigger than 0.1mm. In contrast, the dust was well lifted into the space and the dust cloud was more uniform.
