On families of polynomials which approximate the pluricomplex Green function

Let K be a regular, compact, polynomially convex subset of C-n with pluricomplex Green function V-K(z). We give a condition on a family of polynomials {p(j) (z)}(j=1,2) so that [GRAPHIC] The condition involves the directional Tchebyshev constants of K and is readily seen to be satisfied by several natural families of polynomials associated to K, e.g. Fekete polynomials, Leja polynomials, or Tchebyshev polynomials.
