Evaluation Research of Sitting Comfort Based on Data Fitting

This paper proposes a modeling method based on data fitting in subjective assessment for the purpose of constructing correlation of overall and local sitting comfort. The inputs include twelve local comfort indexes and the output is an overall comfort score. Experimental data are collected from the subjective perceptions of one hundred occupants sitting on a trial chair with rating scales. Two coupled models are established respectively based on sitting positions and lying position of the trial chair. Results show the feasibility of using data fitting in predicting subjective sitting comfort.
