Design of a Wide Bandwidth Active Filter for Common Mode EMI suppression in Automotive systems

摘要
The issue of Electromagnetic Interference in Electrical Vehicles due to the power conversion units pushes the need for new filtering solutions. Higher and higher performances are required to meet the stringent emissions limits while at the same time low volumes and design for production are two mandatory aspects in order to be competitive in the market. This paper introduces a step by step design methodology for an Active EMI Filter which aims to excellent performance while keeping a very small size and mass production feasibility. The design is analyzed theoretically, by simulation and verified by experiments. Finally a prototype of active filter is built and its effectiveness is tested on a real test setup.
