摘要
Based on the characteristics of Chinese girder bridges, an analytical model of pounding has been developed. The parametrical analysis of the pounding phenomenon associated with the seismic response was carried out by using the pounding model of continuous girder bridges. The results show that the primary factors affecting the pounding response are the value of adjacent bridge segments period ratio, coefficient of friction and initial gap at expansion joints. The relative displacements between adjacent bridge piers and girders were clearly increased considering the effects of pounding and of traveling seismic waves, which may even cause bridge decks to drop from piers and collapse.
