摘要
It is known that the mechanisms invented by Scottish astronomer and engineer James Ferguson in 18th century, are of an interest for modern mechanics. While developing mechanisms, which simulate motion of celestial objects (so-called Planetariums and Lunariums) he discovered some unusual properties of planetary gear mechanisms called "Ferguson's Paradox". There are several models in the collection of Bauman Moscow State Technical University (BMSTU) department "Theory of Mechanisms and Machines" (TMM). This paper focuses on a structure, kinematics and a development of 3D models of mechanisms. The article will be of interest for technical institute professors and students, as well as for all readers who are interested in the problems of the Mechanical science and its history.
