Analysis of the Probability Characteristics of the Extreme Wave Height Based on the Maximum Entropy Principle

摘要
The maximum entropy principle is a principle that makes the entropy entropymaximum on the additional restrained condition of the known information. In this paper based on the maximum entropy principle and the years of real-measured data observed in some islands of Huanghai, we set up reasonable model about the wave height by means of restraining about the known information and maintain maximum unknown characteristics of the unknown information,and then compare the results with the Gumbel distribution function and the Weibull distribution function. The results after comparison indicate that it is more reasonable to estimate the extreme wave height by maximum entropy principle than the Gumbel distribution and the Weibull distribution.
