摘要
Java is the programming language of choice for Internet and Web based applications. This is due in part to the dramatic growth in e-commerce applications. Java's support for networked applications ranges from socket level APIs to advanced APIs for multi-threaded servers, security, and accessing remote objects and databases. Students in the field of computer networks and distributed computing need exposure and experience with this dynamic technology. This paper describes a series of laboratory programming projects for a graduate course in Computer Networks and Client-Server Computing. These projects provide students with a firm understanding of the capabilities and limitations of various Java APIs for client-server development.
