The Competitiveness of Romanian Farms Through the Implementation of European Projects

The NRDP 2014-2020 has the mission to strengthen the competitiveness of the Romanian farms activity from the perspective of entering new internal or European markets, also considering the provisions of the European Chart for small farms adopted in Lisbon in 2000. The Lisbon Chart was designed to contribute to the improvement in the performance of SMEs at European level in the context of globalization and the knowledge-based economy. By means of the commitments made, Romania shall respond to the internal needs of small farms, as well as to the concerns at European level. The aim is to substantiate the proposals of support policies for the Romanian farms, including the qualitative analysis, the development stage, the needs and priorities of the cooperatives. These programs aim to encourage young people not to leave the country, the funds allocated to them cover 50% of the total amount of eligible expenses related to the business plan. This paper analyzes the competitiveness of Romanian farms, by accessing European funds between 2007-2018 and the entrepreneurial perspectives for the communities from which they operate.
