摘要
Streaming video delivery over mobile networks is becoming more popular today. Since video consumes very large bandwidth, compression is required before video can be sent via mobile network. The most Popular and dominant video compression standard use today is the H.264/AVC standart. Meanwhile, Long Term Evolution (LTE) is the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) standard designed to meet high data rate requirements with increasing demand for growing content services of cellular networks as the successor of the 3C technology. This paper reports the results of a performance comparison evaluation of 11.264/AVC vs HEVC video streams over LTE network, using network simulator N53. The analysis of this performance comparison is performed as a function of packet loss, the availability of the resource block and the link capacity in the core network of the LTE network.
