Real-time timing of traffic lights based on time-varying universe

摘要
Aiming at the unreasonable setting of traffic signal time, in this paper, a fuzzy control method based on time-varying universe is proposed to reduce vehicle delay time and relieve the serious congestion at signalized intersections. The dynamic fuzzy rules which are used to optimize the fixed signal timing method are given. The traffic date at the intersection of Yuhua District in Changsha is taken as an example. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified by VISSIM simulation. The simulation results show that the scheme can effectively improve the traffic capacity of intersection and reduce the delay time of vehicles by dynamically adjusting the length of the traffic light cycle and assigning the green light time.
