摘要
The article presents a theoretical discussion of the issue of current changes in the spatial organization of air transport in the context of globalisation processes. The article is based on the assumption that air transport today plays a key role in creating global spatial / transport relations. The fact that a substantial proportion of traffic interactions based on the principle of derived demand, air transport interactions have an exceptional value in finding of spatial patterns of interconnection of particular macro-regions of the world. A special attention is therefore paid to the issue of the intensity of air transport as a symbol of connectivity of various parts of the world. Current scientific literature is focused on the issue of air traffic intensity and the cooperating system of world cities. On the other hand, they are also discussed aspects of the world peripheries that are in the global air transport system less integrated. The final contains a simple empirical analysis of mentioned phenomena.
