摘要
This paper presents the management of transmission congestion using Krill Herd (KH) optimization technique by optimally placing and configuring FACTS devices. Congestion is relieved by minimizing active power loss, energy cost and operating cost of FACTS on IEEE-30 and 57 bus systems on different reactive loadings. Static Var Compenstor (SVC) and Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC) manage reactive power flows and generations in lines. Newton-Raphson's power flow has been chosen to determine congested lines. KH method configures susceptance values of SVC, reactance values of TCSC, settings for tap changers and reactive generations to optimize the objective. Matlab ver. R2010 has been chosen to run and validate the results.
