摘要
This paper deals with the control strategy for synchronous homopolar machine adapted for traction applications. Advantages and disadvantages of homopolar motors are first discussed. Mathematical models and variations of its design are given. The structure of the proposed control strategy is based on field oriented control but it was modified in order to achieve maximum performance according to experimentally measured torque vs. the stator and excitation currents. Experimental results in a pure electric city bus are presented.
