摘要
In this paper a miniature and ultraportable vapor-compression refrigeration system for personal cooling has been developed and tested. To meet the demand of portability, several key miniature components have been utilized or developed such as a miniature compressor, a miniature electronic expansion valve and a miniature microchannel plate evaporator. In this way, the total weight of the cooling system is only 5.25kg. The cooling system is tested under various conditions and the cooling capacity is calculated. The test results show the effectiveness of the miniature refrigeration system in extending tolerance time of people in high temperature circumstances, for it can yield a cooling capacity of 215 watts at ambient temperature of 55 degrees C with cold water temperature of 24 degrees C to the cooling vest, and extend the tolerance time at 55 degrees C to 30 minutes without heat strain.
