摘要：
The paper discusses the recent developments and the ongoing political trends in Latin America. It suggests that a wave of authoritarianism is a challenge for democratic regimes in the region. However, there is also resilience, rooting and some positive prospects for the Brazilian and Latin American democracies. Finally, we support more researches on this matter from Brazilian historians.
