Fabrication of hard cladding materials using slurry coating method

摘要
Steel used steel based carbide cladding materials FC-I has been developed by slurry coating method under 1300 degreesC. The HV hardness of FC-I after heat treatment is 6.41 GPa. The organic colloid for the raw powders is polyvinyl alcohol and ethanol. The microstructure of FC-I has been studied using SEM,XRD and EDXA. Results show that the hard phase and binder distribute uniformly, the composition of cladding layer is alpha -Fe and Fe3W3C, the volume fraction of alpha -Fe is about 60%-70%, and the interface bonds very well. Experiments also show that wear resistance of FC-I is far better than 45 steel.
