The Improvement Strategy Discussion of Ginger Export Competitiveness in Shandong Province

Shandong is a traditional big ginger production province. The total output of ginger in Shandong province reached 0.28 million tons, while the total export value achieved 0.36 billion US dollars in the year 2010. The ginger industry is becoming a vital backbone in rural economic development of Shandong province. However, there existing some problems about ginger export in Shandong province. This situation does not conform with the position which belongs to a big ginger production province. This article, firstly analyzes the current situation of ginger export in Shandong province, then pointing out some existing problems, and finally, this paper put forward some relevant countermeasures to solving these problems. These measures are as followed: Firstly, to intensify policy and technology support; secondly, to build up quality safety system and actively cope with technological barrier; thirdly, to improve ginger quality and create world famous brand; and lastly, to quicken innovation system establishment of ginger industry.
