摘要
In animal body, limits of thermoregulation are reached more-readily in a hot than in cold environment.. When animals are exposed to high environmental temperature and or high humidity,,,heat load increases and the thermal steady-state cannot be maintained. This in turn leads to rise in the body temperature and, onset of hyperthermia. In Punjab, Holstein Friesian and Crossbred cows often suffer from hyperthermia. during summer sdason. Keeping in mind that the excess of iodine suppresses release of thyroid hormones and hence the BMR, a dose response trial was conducted using parenteral iodine in hyperthermic dairy cows.
