Behavioural Addiction, Stress Dysregulation Response and Insecure Attachment

This paper proposes a theoretical approach starting from connections between the pattern of Insecure Attachment and Stress Dysregulation Response (SDR), which in the end, lead to a major decrease of the brain neuro-plasticity, manifesting chronic anxiety, depression and later sustaining behavioural addiction, internet addiction. An integrative perspective regarding the link between non-substance addiction and stress dysregulation response at a person, who manifests insecure attachment behaviour, is required at this moment by an alarming and increasing number of children and teens with this type of behavioural addiction, internet addiction. Each of these three dimensions was approached separately, but there more dimensions are needed to be adapted and integrated, to keep the rhythm with the needs and the expectations of our modern society.
