Tinea incognito masquerading as granulomatous periorificial dermatitis

摘要：
Tinea incognito is an atypical superficial dermatophyte infection induced by the application of potent topical corticosteroids. Diagnosing tinea incognito can be challenging for the physician because the condition can imitate many dermatologic disorders. We describe a patient with skin-colored erythematous papules and pustules resembling granulomatous periorificial dermatitis. A potassium hydroxide (KOH) preparation was performed for suspected Demodex folliculitis, leading to the diagnosis of tinea incognito.
