Excitation of elastic waves in half-space with periodic surface undulations

摘要
The components of the displacement of elastic waves excited by a normal transducer in half-space with periodic surface undulations is calculated by the perturbation method within the framework of the two-dimensional model. The numerical examples of the calculation results obtained for a surface described by harmonic functions are given. The phenomenon of transformation of longitudinal waves into transverse waves on periodic surface undulations, which has been revealed earlier, is confirmed. As a result of this phenomenon, transverse waves are emitted in the direction of the normal to the plane of the transducer at its center.
