Effect of slight Mn dopping on the structure and magnetic properties of Gd2Co17-xMnx compounds

摘要
The structure and magnetic properties of Gd2Co17-xMnx ( x = 0-1) compounds with rhombohedral Th2Zn17-type Structure were studied by X-ray diffraction and magnetic measurement. The unit cell volume V and the saturation magnetization M-a were found to increase linearly, while the Curie temperature T-C to decrease linearly with increasing Mn concentration. The magneto-crystalline anisotropy field mu(0) H-a decreases first, reaches a minimum at x = 0.6, then increases with further increasing Mn concentration.
