ICT education: To integrate or not to integrate?

摘要
Integration of information and communications technologies (ICT) into the curriculum has been heavily promoted. Taiwan's Ministry of Education prescribes curriculum standards and publishes curriculum guidelines for all subjects taught at pre-college schools. The guidelines define the objectives of each subject, the scope and subject content to be taught, and suggestions for implementation. The education administrators and those scholars who serve as consultants to the government have tended to hold a position against ICT itself a subject in the K-9 curriculum. There is much more to learn about information and computer technologies. All schools should continue its effort to integrate ICT into classroom teaching to enrich and transform teaching and learning.
