摘要
This contribution discusses the role of fluid pressures for mineralizing processes in Mesozoic normal fault terranes in Germany. The Post-Variscan tectonics is characterized by widespread domino-style tectonics in the cover rocks, caused by crustal dilation and the existence of impermeable and ductile deformable salt beds at the basis of the cover rocks. This resulted in a geomechanic decoupling on detachment planes between the Variscan Basement and the cover rocks. That hindered the continuous fluid transfer through the impermeable barrier. Vein structures opened and were best mineralized below the barrier.
