Main regularities of distribution of organic and inorganic forms of nutrients

Hydrochemical data of five cruises to the Sea of Okhotsk in 1989-1997 are summarized and maps of phosphates, nitrates silicates, ammonia, organic forms of nitrogen and phosphorus, as well as temperature, and salinity are developed. The developed maps allow us to differentiate quasi-stationary meso-scale eddies. Analyzing the joint fields of temperature, salinity, and nutrients, we have managed to verify the scheme of currents in the Sta of Okhotsk and determine small-scale eddies (20-40 km) over Sakhalin shelf.
