Do "Master-Slave" Configurations Make Sense for Optical Interconnect?

摘要
In this paper we speculate about the possibility of introducing master-slave configurations instead of pear-to-pear configurations in the optical-interconnect environment, in order to realize laser-less slave nodes that could allow massive integration in silicon-photonics, making reuse of the downstream wavelength for upstream transmission.
