摘要
Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) is an analog to the graphite in the materials science for its unique electronic structure. The g-C3N4 materials are having enormous assurance on photocatalytic applications but, pure g-C3N4 suffers from major drawbacks which includes poor disparity, low surface area as well as high recombination rate of photo generated electron hole pairs which greatly reduces its photocatalytic activity. Advantageously, high chemical and thermal stability give opportunity to amend g-C3N4 with other samples to conquer aforementioned limitations. Furthermore, it was proved that coupling with co-catalysts over pristine g-C3N4 could significantly develop its photocatalytic performance through synergistic effects of the incorporated semiconductors. This review gives an outline the recent progress in the improvement of g-C3N4 based ternary composite (CNT). Various methods utilized to prepare the g-C3N4 based ternary composite photocatalyst including with their corresponding examples were explained. Also, this review artide discussed the g-C3N4 based ternary composite photocatalytic applications in the O-2 evaluation, H-2 production and CO2 reduction and photocatalytic degradation of organic dyes in aqueous solution.
