Identification of Self-Incompatibility Alleles in Some Almond Genotypes by PCR Analysis

摘要
Identification of S-alleles in almond cultivars and genotypes is important for breeders and growers. The aim of this study was to identify S allele patterns in 25 almond genotypes obtained from different geographical regions of East-Azarbaijan, Iran. Genomic DNA was extracted from young leaves and PCR was done using specific primers AmyC5R-AS1II, Alsc1-AmyC5R, Pruc2-Pruc4R and Pruc2-Pruc5R. Most of the S alleles were amplified using Pruc2-Pruc4R primer pair and the size of alleles ranged between 230-2000 bp in genotypes. All of the genotypes showed self-incompatibility pattern.
