Textile and garment industry has been developing for more than 30 years in Fujian; and its economic production quantity keeps maintaining the national status of the fifth (after Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Guangdong) for many years; the rudiments of Fujian higher education in fashion design was in Fujian Hwanan women's college formerly known, was founded by a group of alumni of HwaNan College (1908-1951), however, Compared to the other province of textile and garment industry, Fujian higher education in fashion design lags behind them; Based on the above description, this study examines the current state and development of Fujian higher education in fashion design, Using document analysis with researchers' explanations of their analysis techniques, The conclusions drawn from the research are as follows: 1) for the development of Fujian higher education in fashion design to the present, a three-year special course education has become the principal school system in use; 2) Over the past decade, there has been a steady increase in the number of schools and recruited students. They have also developed characteristics in conjunction with the industrial structure in the region.
