:
Reaction of a substituted allylsilane with N-chlorosulfonyl isocyanate at 0 degrees C takes place in an unexpected manner to give a [3+2] cycloaddition product, a beta-silyl-gamma-lactam, rather than a [2+2] cycloadduct.
