Two unique engineering technology programmes

The University of Houston-Downtown offers two unique and distinct programmes leading to 4 years Bachelor of Science degrees in process and Piping Design, and Structural Analysis and Design. These programmes provide intensive and focused instruction in real world applications. They produce trained engineering technologists that find well paying jobs. The programmes are the only ones accredited by TAC of ABET in these specialties in the USA. The programmes include extensive instruction in applications rather than theory. Students become computer proficient in the freshman year and most courses include computer applications and laboratories. Students are exposed to all programmes that are common in industry. The curriculum changes constantly to make graduates productive from the first day of employment. Courses are offered in evenings and weekends to accommodate working students.
