A study on the combustion rates of pulverized-coal char particle in O2/CO2 environment

摘要
The combustion rate of pulverized-coal char in O-2/CO2 as well as in O-2/N-2 environments is theoretically and experimentally studied. An entrained-flow reactor is used to determine overall combustion rate of pulverized-coal char of different gas temperature (from 1247 to 1575 K) with selected O-2 partial pressure. Based upon the selected chemical kinetic parameters, the measurement data are in general agreement with predicted results. Both the results show that the overall combustion rate of coal char is lower in O-2/CO2 than in O-2/N-2 environment at same environment gas temperature below 1600K. With rising the O-2 partial pressure in the environment, the overall combustion rates increase obviously.
