Effects of chemical insertion of hydrogen on the structural and magnetic properties of Sm2Fe17-xSix and Nd2Fe17-xCox with 0<x≤3

摘要
Hydrides of Sm2Fe17-xSix and Nd2Fe17-xCox (x = 1-3) compounds are investigated by a chemical method. A single phase with rhombohedral Th2Zn17-type structure for both series of samples has been obtained from X-ray diffraction. Lattice parameters a, c, and the unit cell volume of the hydrides are found to decrease linearly with Si contents. But only the parameter c increases with increasing Co concentration. The insertion of hydrogen in the structure increases the lattice parameters and the unit cell volume. The Curie temperatures increase with increasing Si and Co concentrations and also with hydrogen insertion. The saturation magnetisation decreases after insertion of hydrogen.
