摘要：
The paper presents an overview of the geographical information systems (GIS) applied in forest management planning in Lithuania for over ten years. The work was started using a system based on PC/ArcInfo, served for the compilation and storage of data, as well as for analyses and cartographic work. This GIS system has evolved into a multifunctional information system on forest resources based on the ArcGIS. ArcSDE. platforms and MS SQL Server.
