Selective one step synthesis of acetic acid from syngas over Rh NaY catalyst

摘要
Rhodium catalyst entrapped in the supercages of NaY zeolite(Rh/NaY) was used for syngas conversion at 1.0 MPa and 250 degrees C, It was shown that the catalyst was highly stable and selective for a direct synthesis of acetic acid, The selectivity of acetic acid was about 50% with a syngas that contains equal moles of CO and H-2. The selectivity increases up to 70% when n(CO)/n(H-2)=3, No formation of ethanol was detected under steady catalysis, and the formation of all other Cg oxygenates was below 5%.
