CERTIFICATION OF PERFORMANCE OF REFRIGERATED DISPLAY CABINETS

European Commission has worked on a large project of reduction of energy use, which led to publication of Energy related Products (2009/125/EC) and Labelling (2010/30/EC) directives. Implementing measures for Refrigerated display cabinets are currently under preparation for definition of minimum efficiencies to be provided by a unit to be allowed carrying the CE marking. Eurovent Certification Company administers voluntary certification programmes, where facilities are annually audited and cabinets are tested in independent laboratories every six months. During the audit, production line is controlled and recent orders are reviewed to verify conformity with declaration. Representative models are tested according to testing standard ISO 23953:2005 and relevant amendments, to guarantee that offered performance levels are reached. In addition, data under laboratory conditions are uniformly transposed and published in order to fit with store conditions. Finally, a classification has been prepared in order to help specifiers and contractors in choosing energy saving-solution installations.
