摘要
In order to provide appropriate & sustainable living conditions to contemporary urban housing, a series of key criteria must be met; notably affordability, adaptability and privacy. Industrialisation offers its strategies and technologies to deliver various types of dwelling units in full compliance with those criteria. Industrialised building systems will amortise a process capable of simplifying the production, thereby reducing the costs in order to achieve AFFORDABILITY. Industrialised building systems don't mean stacking people in chicken cages: quite the contrary. Since users are different from each others, even from themselves through time, ADAPTABILITY is a necessity which can be readily achieved by applying the four strategies of mass-customisation: Flexibility of the Product, Flexibility of the Tools, Multipurpose Framework and Combinability. Those strategies are applicable to the three categories of industrialised building systems presently or prospectively available all over the world: Kit of parts, 3D Factory-Made Module and Hybrid. PRIVACY is assured when the proper design measures are applied.
