摘要
Alloy 693 is a modified version of Alloy 690 produced by the addition of Al and Ti to induce the precipitation of gamma' phase particles, which forms at temperatures below 1000 degrees C. Alloy 690 is known to possess good formability at temperatures from about 970-1200 degrees C and a similar response were expected from Alloy 693. In the present work, hot deformation behaviour of Alloy 693 has been studied in the temperature range 950 degrees C to 1200 degrees C. Optimum hot working temperature and strain rate parameters have been identified based on dynamic recrystallization response of the alloy during hot deformation. Results presented here have shown that the alloy experiences strain localization and partial recrystallization when deformed at temperatures <= 1000 degrees C. Complete dynamic recrystallization occurs during deformation at temperatures from 1050 to 1200 degrees C and at strain rates from 0.002 to 0.1 s(-1), which is in close agreement with that of Alloy 690.
