The Rohlin property for shifts on UHF algebras and automorphisms of Cuntz algebras

We show that the shift on the UHF algebra M(n) infinity has the Rohlin property for any odd n (hence, by Brotteli et al. (The crossed product of a UHT algebra by a shift, Ergodic Theory Dynam. Systems 13 (1993), 615-626), for any n = 2, 3,...), and that any automorphism alpha of the Cuntz algebra O-n (n < infinity) has the Rohlin property if alpha(m) is outer for any m not equal 0.
