Faults modeling of permanent magnet brushless DC motor

摘要
The permanent magnet brushless DC motors have the characteristics of high efficiency and high energy density; its applications have extended from household appliances and servo systems to aerospace actuators and marine propulsion etc that require the machines possessing critical reliability. The authors propose regarding shorted turns as a phase to establish interturn short circuit fault model, other faults such as stator winding open circuit and permanent magnet demagnetization also be modeled, some simulation results are given. Based on the model, faults state of brushless DC motor can be predicted through computer simulation at very low cost before coming into actual application.
