Self -discriminating and counteranion-controlled self -assembly: Two heterochiral Cd(II) coordination polymers based on a racemic bis(pyridyl) ligand

摘要
Two 1D heterochiral coordination polymers, [Cd(rac-L)I2]n (1) and [Cd(rac-L)Cl2]n (2), have been synthesized and characterized from a racemic bis(pyridyl) ligand (rac-L) with CdI2 or CdCl2, respectively. The differently geometric structures were measured via single crystal X-ray diffraction, which disclosed the self-discriminating and counteranion-induced process in the self-assembly. The adsorption measurements for the two coordination polymers show that they can be potential materials as the adsorbents of methanol vapor. In addition, solid state luminescence properties of the two coordination polymers have been investigated in detail. © 2020 Elsevier B.V.
