摘要
Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM) is a specialized thermo electrical machining process capable of accurately machining parts with varying hardness or complex shapes. Present study outlines the optimization of process parameters in the wire EDM. HCHCr was selected as a work material. This work material was machined using different process parameters based on Taguchi's L27 orthogonal array. Parameters such as pulse-on, pulse-off, current and bed speed was varied. The response variables measured for the analysis are surface roughness, volumetric material removal rate and accuracy. ANOVA has been carried out to know the magnitude of factor affects. Further the verification experiment has been carried out to confirm the performance of optimum parameters. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
