摘要
Telemedicine is not a new technology, but the communication mechanisms used to achieve efficient ken-to-end connection in these scenarios keep changing as the field of networking evolves. WiFi, when used as the communication medium, enables an ambulance to transmit a patient's bio-signals to a distant hospital over an ad hoc network, which are primarily vehicular in nature. Routing is a major issue to be considered in such cases as the vehicles are mobile and adds the element of uncertainty in the data transmission process which is unacceptable in the field of Telemedicine. This survey aims at highlighting the various routing protocols that have been designed to support the telemedicine scenario while also providing the advantages and drawbacks of each methods.
