Interethnic relations viewed by Uzbekistan population

Ethno-demographic aspects of migration processes in Russia and Ukraine considers the issues arising in the course of interdependent influences exerted by migration exchange between Russia and Ukraine on demographic dynamics and ethnic structure of both countries in question. Evolving processes of national identification are discussed. The paper is based on the current statistics, and recent Soviet, Ukrainian (2001) and Russian (2002) censes. Both countries pass through a period of demographic deficit and are in need of migration influx. However, both countries began recently to compete for attracting migrants from ex-USSR republics, and feel the impact of an acute competition on the part of post-industrial nations of European Union.
