Stimulating effects of low-power He-Ne laser on growth of Saccharomyces cerevisiae under high pressure

摘要
Irradiation by low-power visible monochromatic red light such as He-Ne laser often stimulates metabolic systems in various cells and accelerates the growth (Karu, 1989). Irradiation of laser caused stimulation of DNA synthesis in E. coli cell and enhanced the cell division rate (Karu, 1987; Kana et al., 1981). We studied the effect of low-power visible monochromatic red light, He-Ne laser, on the growth of yeast cells under high pressures up to 150 MPa. Hydrostatic pressure up to 50 MPa usually retards the growth of cells. We used a low-power He-Ne laser to retard the effects of hydrostatic pressure on the growth of yeast.
